About Us

Hi there! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'm Emily, but feel free to call me Em. I live in the South West of Western Australia, and this blog is all about my family's journey through the school of life!

Before I begin, let me get one thing really straight first...
There is no way I'd be able to do what I am doing without the endless blessings of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and the perpetual graces of His Blessed Mother, Mary. My goodness, I don't even want to think about the kind of mess I would be if I didn't have them in my life! Part of this blog will be showing you how we incorporate our Catholic faith into our everyday life as an absolute essential staple, and how it helps us through each glorious day.

Here is the reason for all this fuss and effort:

Our Herd at Erskine Falls, Otway National Park, on the Great Ocean Road, Victoria
That's me on the left there ;-)
I'm next to Dom, our resident Minecraft expert. Jack is in the middle, and is currently torn between a career with the Australian Cricket Team, or the West Coast Eagles. HRH Princess Piper is my hilarious clone gifted to me for being such an amazing daughter myself (sorry mum!!), and last but not least, that man on the end...

Beers at... some pub...
My greatest gift from God. I honestly don't think he realised the hurricane he was committing to, but here we are! He's my rock. 12 years strong and counting...

As a family we love getting out and about, exploring this great country of ours. Homeschool has been a natural fit for us, and to be honest I wish I had started it sooner. We're in our second year now, and the training wheels are only just starting to come off - only a million prayers later!

Don't get me wrong, we have had some pretty average days... days that leave me questioning why the living heck I am bothering with all this! But those days pass. Our loud, messy, chaotic home is, at its core, full of love love love and more love. We grow food, raise chickens and ducks, play in the rain, light campfires (not during fire-ban of course!), travel, sing, and pray together. Unless there's fights... then it's quiet time!

Hmmmm anything else before I go?

My netball girls are my lifeline! Love to play, coach, umpire, anything and everything netty. Saturdays in Autumn and Winter are all footy for the boys and netty for us girls! Make sure you're always doing something JUST FOR YOU! I love loads of different styles of fitness - running, sports, cross training, hiking, riding... I'm not very good at any of it, but I get the job done and I enjoy it.

My art, too. I love to create anything! Find your joy. And when your kids see you living your joy, they will learn how to find theirs too xx

I hope you have fun taking a look around our blog, and come back regularly as we post more about what we're up to :-)

Take care and God Bless xx
Em

**2020 UPDATE**

Good heavens, that post seems like forever ago! The kids are stronger, sassier, taller, hungrier, funnier, smarter, and more fantastic than ever. 5 years homeschooling now, and nearly 15 years of marriage to the old fella - life is good!

15 year married this year.... gosh that mean I'm getting old! (Not as old as Paddy though!)

The family that goes to the cricket together, stays together xx
